LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2019) – Two members of the Caltech women's soccer team have received recognition from the SCIAC for their accomplishments over the 2019 season, the third in the history of the young program.
Senior captain Noelle Davis (Fort Worth, Texas / Texas Acad. of Math & Science) has been named as the 2019 recipient of the SCIAC Award of Distinction. Davis' season came to an end before it began after suffering an injury this summer, but the senior still managed to stand out as a leader on the team. Davis played on the men's team her freshman year, was instrumental in helping to bring women's soccer to Caltech in 2017 and went on to play on the inaugural team that same year. Her leadership, dedication and commitment to her teammates and academics did not go without notice.
Junior midfielder Krystin Brown (Lake Forest, Calif. / Trabuco Hills), meanwhile, has been named Second Team All-SCIAC for the second year in a row. Like Davis, Brown also played on the inaugural team back in 2017 and has since developed into a well-rounded offensive weapon for the Beavers. The junior scored a team-best four times on 31 shots, with her most recent goal coming on a free kick against Whittier College in the annual Orange Out game last month.
