Beavers Close Out SCIAC Season

The Caltech women's volleyball team closed at SCIAC play by facing a pair of the top team in the league the first weekend of November.

Cal Lutheran 3, Caltech 0 (Box Score)

Already the conference's regular season champion and top seed for the league tournament, the Regals posted a straight sets win (25-7, 25-6, 26-8) on Friday evening.

Cal Lutheran had 10 different players post at least one kill as they combined to posted 25 kills and a .346 team hitting percentage. Caitlin Fransen led all players with a match high five kills. The nation's third ranked team served effectively as well as they recorded 21 service aces.

The Beavers had a trio of players produce two kills as Suzannah Osekowski, Paige Logan and Rebekah Kitto tied for team high honors.

Pomona Pitzer 3, Caltech 0 (Box Score)

In the final SCIAC match of the season the Sagehens posted a three-set win (25-18, 25-12, 25-12) on Saturday morning.

The Beavers played well in stretched but couldn't put together enough rallies to overcome Pomona-Pitzer. Paige Logan's eight kills highlighted the match for the home team. She has 149 kills this season which moves her into fourth place on the single season kills list at Caltech.

Sarah Gamble had a match high nine kills to pace the Sagehens efforts.

Caltech plays their final home match of the season on Monday evening when they host West Coast Baptist at 7:00 p.m.
