NEW ORLEANS (Nov. 5, 2019) – The Caltech women's cross country jumped back into the USTFCCCA-compiled NCAA Division III Cross Country Regional Rankings on Tuesday, moving up to seventh in the region.

The Beavers' historic run at the 2019 SCIAC Championships this past Saturday played a major role in the team's latest ranking. Junior Claire Hu (Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry M. Gunn) turned in one of the best showings of her career, placing fifth among a field consisting of 110 women from nine SCIAC teams while classmate Molly Crotteau (Chicago, Ill. / Payton) placed 15th to earn her first All-SCIAC bid. Caltech is appropriately ranked fourth among SCIAC teams, reflecting the program's best finish at the conference meet since the SCIAC expanded to nine schools.

Head Coach Ben Raphelson and the Beavers will have the next two weeks to prepare for the NCAA Division III West Regional Championships, set to take place back at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Saturday, Nov. 16.
